Unlocking the Accessibility of Alkyl Radicals from Boronic Acids through Solvent-Assisted Organophotoredox Activation

چکیده

Despite their prevalence in organic synthesis, the application of boronic acids (BAs) as alkyl radical precursors visible-light-assisted photocatalyzed reactions has been limited by high oxidation potential. This study demonstrates prominent ability amide solvents, namely, N,N-dimethylacetamide, to participate hydrogen-bonding interactions with BAs, thus enabling modulation potential toward generation radicals. The developed protocol is simple and robust broad applicability for alkylation, allylation, elimination batch continuous flow. dehydroalanine allows synthesis unnatural amino acids. Furthermore, chemoselective species from BAs presence ester-containing molecules now feasible, endorsing plausible boron-selective (bio-) orthogonal modifications.

A practical electromediated ipso-hydroxylation of aryl and alkyl boronic acids under an air atmosphere.

An efficient electromediated aerobic ipso-hydroxylation reaction of aryl and alkyl boronic acids has been developed. Furthermore, mechanistic insight into the role of superoxide anions in this reaction has also been provided based on electrochemical studies and experimental results.
